The last time I met up with Nyonyapenang for tea, I noticed she had got a brand new phone. When I asked her what happened to her old one. She said she accidentally dropped it into water. I went on to asked more, finally she admitted that she had dropped it into the "jamban" (toilet). I wouldn't know if there is any waste stools a not I didn't ask. Such accidents are very uncommon. So next time when you drop your hand phone into the jamban let me teach you how!
Since the warranty for most electronic does not cover water damage, what you can do to revive your wet gadget is your kitchen. Power off your hand phone (I’m sure it is already off when you took it out from the toilet). Next step is you try to completely cover your hand phone in a bowl of rice or a plastic container.
Rice being a natural desiccant will help absorb the excess moisture. Let it dry for at least 24 hours and do not try to charge the battery. Remove the battery separately to speed up the whole drying process. Try this home remedy and it really works before you rush to Low Yat to buy a new one.
